Tuesday

Tomorrow we will be playing our second softball game. We will be having a math test on Friday and a History test this Thursday (also traveling to Upton this day). I sent home a note today with chaperones names so you may start arranging carpools to Grand Rapids. Please begin sending money with your students, you may pay for yourself the day of our trip at the museum and zoo. Homework tonight is to WEB 25, complete study link 10.8, and respond to these two history questions 1- Who won our debate and why? 2 – Which side do you agree with and why? Extra points will be given to the side who comments on the debate here at our blog (no more than one comment per person).

Also been trying to get a handle on the whole podcast idea so decided to practice post here. If all goes as planned look for your student work to be shared over the last few weeks.

  1. 1) I think the Loyalists won because they had better points and the questions they asked left the Patriots stumped.
    2) Even though I live in America I agree with the Loyalists. They had better things to argue about. The Patriots just stuck to one thing “We have NO say in the law and taxes.” The Loyalists had more issues or points to argue about. Brittan protected the colonists but the colonists still did not want to pay the taxes.

  2. 1) I think that the Loyaltists won because were more accurate than the Patrioitsfor these reasons, the questions the Loyaltists had Patriots stumpped more often, and they were accurate at answering question.

    2) I agree with the Loyaltists because they want to keep you safe, and the whole time the Patriots were saying we can’t decide the laws and that is a bad thing. The Loyaltist were making the law to keep them safe even though the coclonists were still upset from all the taxes.

  3. 1) I think that the Loyaltists won because we were more accurate than the Patrioits for these reasons, the questions the Loyaltists had Patriots stumpped more often, and they were accurate at answering question.

  4. 1) I think the Loyaltists won because the Patriots were not answering the questions very well and froze for a second.

    2) I agree with the Loyaltists because we were just trying to protect the colonies.

  5. I thought the Loyalists won because we gave them harder questions that they couldn’t respond to, or used the same answer that diddnt even make sense.
I agree with the Loyalist because they made the taxes so they could pay for the soliders that were protecting the Colonist

  6. 1- I think that the Loyalists won because some of there questions really stumped us.

2-If I had to choose to be eather Loyalists or Patriot. I wouid pertend to be a loyalists but try to stop taxing then betraid them and become a Patriots and have not as much tax.

  7. I think that the Patriots won because they made good points, asked good questions and had good answers. If I had to choose I would choose because they were braver and determined to fight for thier own land and no more Brittish rule.

  8. I think the debate was a tie because both teams had good Qs and answers for them and both sides actors represented their believes well. I am still decided because both sides convinced me in who to go with and I couldn’t choose.
